Obsidian (Lux, book 1)

Obsidian - Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is about a girl named Kay,  moved with her mother to West Virginia, and with a hot neighbor. She then knew that her not-so-nice boy next door was from another planet. An alien, with his sister, has been living away from their enemies- Arum- who somehow running into Kay everytime.

The sexual frustration!!! *chuckles*

This book's author is having a good time teasing her readers.. especially her girl hero. Nothing beats a good intense urban alien fantasy fiction in summer.. while you are in front of an air con. Yup.. that's me. haha. I've read about vampires, werewolves, fairies, angels, fallen angels, shape shifters.. but hot aliens? not really.. until now.

I've been meaning to buy a paperback copy but i haven't got a time for summer walking around this very hot weather(nah-- i hate so much brightness-), so i read this in ebook. This is pretty good. It needs a lot of palpable good action tho. But nevertheless, I can't complain. I needed to see how much of a jerk(and how far he can go) Daemon is--a name that I usually read in fiction, btw. His subtle admiration to Kay is you know.. very subtle. He keeps getting hateness from Kay and he somehow needed to make up for her everytime just to make her close. If he's in real life, I think, like Kay, the girl will be very confused. But ahh.. I think, a nice boy is always better, right? I mean... you need to tell her straight to the point. Girls needed that. heh. OH.. book boys..

Anyways, it got very interesting characters, nice witty funny dialogues, frustrating hot scenes, a lot of staring, clever lines. This book got it. :)

Go ahead, read it.

Favorite quotes:

“Will you show me what you really look like? You don't sparkle, do you?”

--

“You don't look like an alien!' It seemed important to point that out.

He arched a brow. 'And what do aliens look like?'

'Not...not like you,'
I sputtered. 'They aren't gorgeous--'

'You think I'm gorgeous?'
He smiled.
